Every year Frensham Heights School year 8 pupils have the opportunity to live as a community in the woodland surrounding the school. Charlie the year head and organiser contacted me to see if I could bring some of the birds and run some workshops with the children and talk a bit about what falconry is and how I live by hunting with my hawks.
Its a great opportunity to discuss lots of the issues that face us with regard to sustainability and the rearing of animals for food, as well as the food chain and hunting.
The children all had the opportunity to handle the hawks and hold Wilf and Doogal.
Heres a link to the film made by the school starring, Wilf, Doogal, London, Guinness and Caffrey alongside me and the ferrets.
